FE/PE Exam Prep

Review for the engineering licensing exams, built by a plant engineer. Short lessons with a live picture for every idea, problems with new numbers every time so nothing is learned by heart, and timed practice tests in the shape of the real exam.

Choose your exam

The FE comes first, usually around graduation; the PE after your years of experience. Pick one, or both for the path through the two in order, with no lesson read twice. Everything is free during the beta.

Why these exams

We teach what we have run. Every lesson and question here is written and checked by an engineer whose career is process plants: the pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, steam systems, refrigeration loops and fired equipment these exams ask about. That is why we cover Chemical and Mechanical, and why we do not offer Civil or Electrical. We would rather leave an exam out than sell questions nobody here can vouch for.

What that gets you on the exams we do cover: questions read off real P&IDs and off the charts the exam expects (the steam chart, the pressure-enthalpy chart, the psychrometric chart, pump curves); new numbers on every attempt, with the mistake behind each wrong answer named; and lessons that point to the same equipment running in the SIMs plant simulators.

How it works

Learn

Each lesson takes one idea the way the exam asks it, shows it in a picture you can move, works an example, and names the trap.

Practice

Every problem makes new numbers each attempt, in US or SI units. A wrong answer tells you which mistake it came from, and every answer shows the calculation.

Test

Timed tests with the exam's length, sections, break and question formats, plus a reference sheet to search. Pause if you need to, or keep exam rules.

Keep it

Pass a topic and refreshers come due at 3, 7, 16, 35 and 90 days, so it is still there on exam day.

About the exam

Everything here is our own material, written for review. The exam itself, its reference handbook and its own practice exams come from NCEES. Take one of their practice exams before test day: NCEES exam prep.
